Swapnil Kant Dixit

Operations Director

Swapnil Kant Dixit is the Director of Operations for Jagriti Yatra. After his graduation from IIT Kharagpur, he worked as a consultant in New Delhi for a year before joining the Jagriti Yatra Team. His formative years saw a good mix of cities like Delhi and Lucknow, towns like Khudaganj in UP, and villages like Ghorakhal in Uttaranchal and Bahadurpur, deep within rural Uttar Pradesh. His experiences include advertising, rural education, architecture, theatre, analytics and music. Contact Swapnil.

Sunanda Hulyalkar

Director of selection

Ms Sunanda Hulyalkar is the Director of selections. She is a business woman in the field of Electronic Office Automation Products mainly in the communication area. She is a recepient of Successful Woman Entrepreneur Award and has a keen interest in social service. She was a Dist Chairman of Asso. of Inner wheel clubs in India, Dist 313. Sunanda is also associated with many Management Institutes as a visiting faculty of MBA for Soft Skills. Her hobbies are farming, travelling and playing musical instruments.

Ashutosh Kumar

Director of Programming

Ashutosh Kumar is the Director of Programming for Jagriti Yatra. He did his B.Tech. from IIT Kharagpur in 2007 and worked as a Software Engineer for over a year in Chennai. He spent his growing years in villages and towns of Bihar, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh. He is passionate about theatre, movies and physics. He founded a theatre group in Chennai and produced several short movies in his college days.

Gitanjali Banerjee Bhattacharya

International Relations

Gitanjali was until recently the Project Director for Tata Jagriti Yatra '08 in Mumbai. Under her able stewardship, the foundations for Tata Jagriti Yatra '08 took shape. She currently lives in London, UK and works at the Zoological Society of London. She continues her work on the Yatra through promoting the international reach of the Yatra. Contact Gitanjali.

Kaustav Bhattacharya

Media & Technology

Kaustav Bhattacharya, one of the founding members of the Tata Jagriti Yatra '08 team, is in charge of the web site and international media development. Based in London, UK, Kaustav has been a part of the team from its inception and regards his involvement with the Yatra as a means to giving back to his cultural roots in India.Contact Kaustav.

Aradhna Mathur

Co-ordinator, Fund Raising

Aradhna Mathur supports our fund raising activities and outreach. Her passion for the environment and wildlife conservation has taken her all over the world. She has worked at the grass roots level carrying out Environmental Impact Assessments for developmental projects in India and is currently working with a prestigious international conservation agency. As someone who grew up outside India, for Aradhna the 1997 Yatra was an eye opening experience connecting her to her roots and discovering India.

Smriti Kedia

Team member

A graduate of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Smriti brings her expertise and indomitable spirit and zeal to the project. She is interested in promoting and supporting rural enterprise and development.

Shashank Mani

Chairman

Shashank Mani is the Chairman of Jagriti Sewa Sansthan. He was the original architect of the 1997 Yatra, helping concieve and execute it. Shashank works for an IT - Services company, and is recognised as an industry expert in finance and accounting outsourcing. Shashank has written about the 1997 Yatra in his book 'India: Journey through a healing civilisation'. Shashank has a B. Tech from IIT - Delhi and an MBA (Hons) from IMD, Lausanne. Contact Shashank

Raj Krishnamurthy - Board Member

Raj has over 15 years of global experience working in US, Singapore and UK for Applied Materials and the BOC Group. He has a B.Tech from IIT Bombay, MS from Purdue University and an MBA from Santa Clara University. He is currently European Business Development Director at United Technologies - Fire and Security.

Rewati Prabhu - Board Member

Rewati has worked as an architect and urban designer in the USA, Europe and India. She is a Director of Frischmann Prabhu India, a 400 strong multidisciplinary design consultancy headquartered in Mumbai. Rewati leads large scale development projects and is passionate about urban regeneration in Indian cities. Within the Jagriti Yatra board, she is guiding the selection process for students, facilitators and institutions we plan to visit.

Shipra Sharma - Treasurer

Works with CII with specialisation in developmental issues, especially pertaining to countries in Africa.
