Gitanjali Banerjee Bhattacharya

Project Director

Gitanjali Banerjee Bhattacharya is the Project Director for Jagriti Yatra and a former yatri from the 1997 Azad Bharat Rail yatra. Gitanjali grew up in Dehradun, India and attended Welham Girls School. She returned to her beloved hometown to pursue a master's degree in Wildlife Science at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun. Gitanjali will complete her Ph.D in Ecology from Columbia University, New York in December 2007. Gitanjali enjoys mountaineering, writing, digital photography and birdwatching. Contact Gitanjali.

Swapnil Dixit

Operations Director

Swapnil Kant Dixit is the Director of Operations for Jagriti Yatra. After his graduation from IIT Kharagpur, he worked as a consultant in New Delhi for a year before joining the Jagriti Yatra Team. His formative years saw a good mix of cities like Delhi and Lucknow, towns like Khudaganj in UP, and villages like Ghorakhal in Uttaranchal and Bahadurpur, deep within rural Uttar Pradesh. Kaustav Bhattacharya

Media & Technology

Kaustav Bhattacharya is the Media for Jagriti Yatra. Kaustav is a seasoned technologist working at the forefront of developments on the world wide web. After graduating with a BSc in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science, Kaustav has worked for a number of world class media organisations such the BBC and Sky Television. Kaustav is currently the head of development for one of the leading global marketing and communications agencies in London. In his spare time Kaustav is an avid Astronomer and plays an active role in the Society for Popular Astronomy. Contact Kaustav.

Shishir Dhulla

Secretary

Shishir is the Secretary of the Mumbai chapter of Jagriti Sewa Sansthan and will supervise the operations at project office of Jagriti Yatra in Mumbai. He was in-charge of the finance function in the 1997 Yatra, apart from being involved in various organisational roles. Shishir currently works as the CTO of leading stock broking firm in Mumbai. He is a Microsoft Certified Professional and has specialised in Computer Networks from the IIM Ahmedabad. He is passionate about trekking and music.

Aradhna Mathur

Fund raising

Aradhna Mathur is a former participant of the 1997 Azad Bharat Rail Yatra. Aradhna currently lives and works in the USA as a ecoloogist for a prestigious international conservation agency. Aradhna's participation in Jagriti Yatra involves assistance in fund raising with trusts and charities.
