Refund Policy
Overview
This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions for cancellations, withdrawals, and refunds related to participation in Jagriti Yatra. We understand that circumstances may change, and this policy is designed to be fair to both participants and the organization while covering operational costs already incurred.
Application Fee
The application fee paid during registration is non-refundable under any circumstances. This fee covers the cost of application processing, review, and selection committee operations.
Cancellation and Refund Timeline
Refund eligibility depends on when you notify us of your withdrawal from the program. The following refund percentages apply to the total fee paid:
Till 31st July 2025
100% RefundIf you cancel on or before July 31st, 2025, you will receive a full refund of the program fee (excluding the application fee and payment gateway charges).
From 1st Aug - 31st Aug 2025
80% RefundCancellations made during August 2025 are eligible for an 80% refund of the program fee.
From 1st Sept - 30th Sept 2025
65% RefundCancellations made during September 2025 are eligible for a 65% refund of the program fee.
From 1st Oct - 15th Oct 2025
45% RefundCancellations made between October 1st and October 15th, 2025 are eligible for a 45% refund of the program fee.
After 15th Oct 2025
25% RefundCancellations made after October 15th, 2025 are eligible for only a 25% refund. Railway tickets and logistical arrangements are finalized at this stage.
Non-Refundable Items
The following are never refundable:
- Application fee
- Payment gateway processing charges (typically 2-3% of transaction)
- Railway booking and cancellation charges levied by Indian Railways
- Administrative processing fees (included in the retention percentage)
Refund Process
Request Submission: To request a refund, email selection@jagritiyatra.com with your name, registration ID, and reason for withdrawal. Include "Refund Request" in the subject line.
Acknowledgment: We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days and confirm your refund eligibility.
Processing Time: Approved refunds will be processed within 60-120 business days from the date of acknowledgment.
Refund Method: Refunds will be credited to the original payment method used during registration. Please allow an additional 5-10 business days for the amount to reflect in your account after processing.
Medical Emergencies and Special Circumstances
Medical Emergencies: If you are unable to participate due to a medical emergency or serious illness, you may be eligible for a partial refund regardless of the cancellation timeline. You must provide a medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner.
Force Majeure: In case of natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions, or other events beyond our control that result in program cancellation by Jagriti Yatra, participants will receive a full refund minus any non-recoverable costs already incurred (such as railway cancellation charges).
Bereavement: In the unfortunate event of a death in your immediate family, we will consider compassionate refund requests on a case-by-case basis.
Dismissal from Program
Participants dismissed from Jagriti Yatra due to violation of the Code of Conduct, misconduct, or breach of Terms of Service are not eligible for any refund. You will also be responsible for your own travel arrangements to return home.
Deferral to Next Year
In exceptional circumstances, participants may request to defer their participation to the following year's Jagriti Yatra instead of requesting a refund. Deferral requests are subject to approval by the selection committee and availability in the next cohort. A nominal administrative fee may apply. Changes to Program by Jagriti Yatra
Minor Changes: Jagriti Yatra reserves the right to make minor changes to the itinerary, enterprises visited, or program schedule due to operational requirements. Such changes do not qualify for refunds.
Major Changes or Cancellation: If Jagriti Yatra makes substantial changes to the program or cancels the Yatra entirely, participants will be offered the choice of:
- Full refund of all fees paid (excluding non-recoverable costs)
- Transfer to the next available Yatra with no additional fee
- Credit toward future Jagriti programs
